NEW FORMAT!. Join Kelly in this concentrated weekend class starting on Saturday, April 26th from 10am-4pm. Choose from three different variations of a rail fence tablerunner. While in class you will cut, strip piece, press, and assemble your quilt top. On Sunday, April 27th, meet from 1-5pm to quilt and bind your tablerunner. It’s time to learn to quilt with proper techniques! Dedicate a weekend to learning or brushing up on your skills!
Date: Saturday, April 26th, 10am-4pm, and Sunday, April 27th, 1pm-5pm
Choose one of our two variations, or do your own variation, and let’s have some fun! This workshop-style class meets all day Saturday to allow lots of sewing time. These quilts can be totally scrappy or planned, it’s crazy how different they can turn out! Bring a sack lunch or eat in a downtown eatery with classmates.

Dresden Plate or Dresden Fan
Dresden plates are so much easier than they look.Give it a try in this easy workshop and you’ll be glad you did. Using the easy dresden tool we will cut and prepare blades, assemble them, apply the center, and attach to a background block by hand or machine. Size options and color combinations will also be discussed. Want to modernize this classic block? Use a striped or chevron fabric for spectacular results. A variety of patterns will be available to purchase, or just design your quilt as you go using the tool.

English Paper Piecing
Ever heard of “Patchwork of the Crosses”? Google it and you’ll see images of elongated hexagons that create amazing blocks and quilts. Bob Kent, long time customer and quilter, shared his works in progress recently, and I immediately asked him to teach us! Learn the elongated or regular hexagon, or any other shape, the technique is the same. If you are looking for a portable hand project, attend this class to become addicted as so many have!
Date: Saturday, April 12th, 1pm-4pm
Join Erin to make this awesome art quilt using a panel or large print. You will never look at panels the same again! Four repeats of the same print are required in order to get the fractured effect. Basic techniques are emphasized, but more advanced options are discussed and shown in class.
Fee: $45 (Requires book purchase: Fabulous Fractures)
Date: Two Thursdays, April 17th and May 1st, 6-9pm
This is the class that makes a difference for so many who have tried freemotion quilting without success. Jo Mostrom takes you through the entire process and shows you not only how to do freemotion, but why you use certain supplies. She will have pre-marked quilt sandwiches so you’ll have plenty of time to practice.
Fee: $45 (includes fabric sandwiches for practice)
Date: Saturday, May 10th or June 7th, 10am-4pm
Join Kelly on Saturday April 5th from 1-4pm to learn the basics of hand quilting. Discussion of proper tools (needles, thimbles, batting, hoops, etc) and the rocking stitch technique will be the focus.
Fee: $25 includes quilt sandwich, needles, and informational handout. Hoop and thimble required.

Machine Applique Workshop
This is a perfect way to get ready for appliqué BOM programs coming up! While practicing and perfecting your skills, you will make a tea towel with simple designs on each end. Satin stitch and blanket stitch will both be covered in this class. Bring other projects that stump you for live examples to generate discussion. Janelle’s class is full of tips and tricks to make the job easier. Please bring a sewing machine that has a blanket stitch option, if possible.
Fee: $25 includes template plastic and soft fuse. Tea towel and appliqué fabric not included.
Date: Monday, April 21st, 6pm-9pm
Janelle’s popular paper piecing workshop. Focus will be on skill building using practice blocks (tree, heart, log cabin). Throughout the evening, you will construct progressively more challenging blocks. You should leave the class knowing how to tackle any paper piecing project. Note: If you already know PP basics you may attend this class to work on your project and get help as needed.
Fee: $25 includes fabric and paper foundation for practice blocks in class
Date: Thursday, May 1st, 6pm-8:30pm
Join Kelly in this 3-part class using 8 graded fabrics to make this sensational quilt. You’ll learn a fun and rhythmic method of piecing “striplets” with no waste! Make a one-block quilt or start a bigger project. Special pressing techniques create nested seams every time and once you’re underway you won’t even need to read the pattern anymore!
Fee: $55 (pattern purchase additional)
